In this Free Photoshop Website Designing Video Tutorial, we will show you how to use "Notes Tool" and "Audio Annotation Tool". “Notes Tool” is used to attach some notes about your work in the form of text and “Audio Annotation Tool” is used to add notes in the form of audio. These tools are useful in website designing process. If you have used many effects, while making any website layout then you can attach some notes either in the form of audio or text, which you can use later. Using these tools you can exchange your notes or comments with your superiors, clients or colleagues. Press N to select Notes Tool.

Functions of different Photoshop Notes Tool and Audio Annotation Tool:

1. Notes Tool: Notes Tool is used to add text notes to an image. You can attach these notes to your psd and pdf files. These notes can be moved and resized later.
2. Audio Annotation Tool: This tool is used to attach audio notes to your file, which you can use later. This requires microphone for recording your instructions. You can’t edit these audios.

Steps for using Notes Tool

1. Select File > New and make something using different tools and effects of Photoshop. Now, using note tools (either notes tool or audio annotation tool), you can make some notes like how you have created your design or what filters you used or anything related to your design. These notes will help you in future.
2. Select, “Notes Tool” from the toolbar.
3. Click on the canvas or drag to create custom size note window.
4. You can change font name, font size and color of the title bar from the tool options bar. You can also set author’s name.
5. Now, click inside the note window and start typing. Scroll bar will become active automatically, if the text is more.
6. To close the note window, click on the icon on the top right corner. This will convert your note window to an icon. Now, to open this window again just double clicks on the icon.

Steps for using Audio Annotation Tool

1. Select File > New and make something. Now, this time, using “Audio Annotation Tool” we will make audio notes instead of text notes.
2. From the toolbar select “Audio Annotation Tool”.
3. Click on the canvas where you want to place your audio icon in the form of loudspeaker.
4. Click on the Start button to start your recording and then speak into the microphone. After recording your instructions, click on the Stop button. To listen your recorded instructions double click on the audio icon.
5. Set the various options from the tool options bar i.e. author and color.
6. Incase you want to change the position of audio icon, simply click on the audio icon (loudspeaker) and drag to the new position.

Note: To delete any text or audio note either select and press delete from the keyboard or right click on it and select delete note (text note) and delete audio annotation (for audio note).



Notes Tool and Audio Annotation Tool options given in the Tool Options Bar:

When you select "Notes Tool" or "Audio Annotation Tool" related tool options appear in the Tool Options Bar. These options are described below:

1. Author: By default author field box will show registered owner of the photoshop. You can change this author name.
2. Font: You can set or change the font of the text appear in the note window
3. Size: You can set or change the font size of the text to be appearing in the note window.
4. Color: You can change or set the color of the title bar of the note window.
5. Clear All: This will delete all the audio and text icons on the canvas.
